TopicTechnology Driving the Mind-Body Connection

DescriptionThis presentation will discuss recent advances in neuroimaging and neurophysiological testing. Recent research yielded strong evidence that rapid and efficient information exchange among spatially separated brain areas is crucial for an athlete to generate effective body responses to perception of changing conditions in his or her environment. Measurement of this functional connectivity can play a big role in Athletic performance, injury prevention and return to play decisions. Both head impacts and musculoskeletal injuries have clearly been shown to adversely affect functional connectivity patterns within the brain.
