  • William White was diagnosed with ALS in October after doctors noticed twitching in his arms
  • He had an 11-year career in the NFL and played for three different teams
  • In September he will start taking a brand new drug to the market edaravone
  • The drug can’t cure ALS but it is said to slow down the disease’s progression 
  • Dozens of NFL players have developed ALS, a fatal disease that attacks the spinal cord, with 3-10 years life expectancy after the onset of symptoms
  • Though there is a link between football and ALS he has said he wouldn’t change his career
