Assessment Protocols

A TRAZER® Baseline Concussion Assessment takes less than 15 minutes. It’s a complete solution for concussion management that’s fun, simple, and convenient for coaches, athletes, and parents. Here’s how it works:

  • Athlete takes the 15-minute Baseline Concussion Assessment before an injury occurs.
  • Immediately following an injury, the athlete takes TRAZER’s balance test and receives objective data used to determine a specific recovery plan.
  • A structured, staged return-to-play protocol is followed.
  • A return-to-play TRAZER assessment is completed prior to an athlete’s release to play.

The TRAZER Return-to-Play Protocol:

Phase 1:
Immediately Post Concussion Objective BESS Test followed by Cognitive and Physical Rest.
Phase 2:
Light Aerobic Exercise/ Objective BESS Test Pre and Post Exertion.
Phase 3:
Moderate Aerobic Exercise/ Objective BESS Test Pre and Post Exertion.
Phase 4:
Heavy Aerobic Exercise/ Objective BESS Test Pre and Post Exertion.
Phase 5:
Jumping and Heavy Aerobic Exercise/ Objective BESS Test Pre and Post Exertion.
Phase 6:

*Pre-season baseline test administered for optimal comparisons.
